The EU wine e-label: what must be on it
Ingredients, allergens, energy and nutrition per 100 ml, alcohol — hosted with zero tracking.
Since December 2023, wine sold in the EU must declare ingredients and nutrition. The nutrition declaration and ingredients list may be provided electronically via a QR code, as long as the page carries no marketing and no tracking. What to fill in
- Ingredients — in descending order of weight, with additives by category and name or E-number.
- Allergens — e.g. "Contains sulphites"; also milk/egg-based fining agents where residues remain.
- Energy — kJ and kcal per 100 ml (the calculator does the arithmetic).
- Nutrition rows — fat, saturates, carbohydrate, sugars, protein, salt per 100 ml where declared.
- Alcohol — e.g. "12.5% vol".
